Klopp: Liverpool couldn’t afford Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp revealed that Liverpool could not bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield while backing the striker to light Bayern Munich.

Coutinho’s transformation into Bundesliga champions was confirmed on Monday, the Brazilian international joined in a full-season loan to Barcelona and Bayern with the option to buy $ 200 million.

The 27-year-old was also linked with a return to Liverpool, where he starred in five seasons before joining Barça.

Klopp said European champions could not spend the money needed to sign Coutinho, with Bayern paying a $ 8.5 million loan fee and star salaries.

It sounds a little weird, but we couldn’t afford it,” he said Monday at the Sport Bild Awards.

We have already spent the money we earned.

Klopp helped Coutinho shine for Bayern after struggling to make an impact on Barcelona.

He’s a good player, a great kid,” said former Borussia Dortmund coach.

We were hesitant to sell it, but Barcelona forced us with the money, so to speak.

He is a player who can change the game positively.

Not very good for Dortmund, but a good transfer for Bayern and the Bundesliga.

Sánchez is of interest and may leave it to Man United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that there is the intention of Manchester United striker Alexis Sánchez, who is closely linked with joining Ser Serie A.

Sanchez has spent a bad time at United since joining Arsenal in January 2018 in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to the Gunners.

He has scored four goals in 32 Premier League matches for the Red Devils, with his spell at Old Traord severely affected by several injuries.

Inter is said to be ready to sign Sanchez on loan, which would allow the Chilean international to meet former United player Romelu Lukaku.

While Solskjaer was not ready to provide any further details on the status of Sanchez’s move, he acknowledged that the 30-year-old could leave before the European transfer deadline on September 2.

“There are still a few weeks for the transfer window,” Solskjaer said after Monday’s 1-1 game against Wolves.

“There is a possibility [he may leave]. Some clubs have expressed interest in Alexis and we will see what happens.”

“We can’t update beyond that.”

While Sanchez’s time at Old Trafford seems to have an end, fellow Anthony Martial has started the 2019-20 season in good shape.

The French international reached the first goal of the game in Molineux to reach 50 in all competitions for United and Solskjaer praised its impact.

He has now scored two out of two and will only get better, Solskjaer said to Martial.

The friendship between him and Marcus Rashford, Lingard and the other players will only improve.

The more we put in the scoring chances, the more it will be. It’s more of a letter, so I’m happy with that.

United were denied three points to get them to the top, as Rui Patricio saved Paul Pogba’s penalty in the second half after Ruben Neves was dismissed from Marally.
