Huawei Mate 30 Pro Leak shows impressive design and great features

Now that the latest iPhones have been revealed, attention is directed to Huawei. His Mate 30 series is now the most anticipated release, for several reasons.

The presentation takes place in Munich on Thursday, September 18, but a series of press presentations have leaked, according to the always reliable Evan Blass.

There will be four phones in the series, the Mate 30 Lite, the Mate 30 and the one we are. worried about here: the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. The fourth will be the Mate 30 Pro Porsche Design, which is more a niche model.

There have already been reports of exactly what the new Pro will look like, but the new Blass images show greater detail of what could be Huawei’s most handsome phone yet.

Here’s what to expect at the Munich launch.

Four cameras in a circle

This is the bit we have seen before, but the last images look splendid. The circular bezel around the four cameras evokes the camera lens, making it a particularly satisfactory design piece.

And keep in mind that the cameras don’t seem to stand out at all, unlike almost all other smartphones, other than the Nokia 9 PureView.

The notch is not small: room for a second camera

The front camera and other technologies are located in a larger cutout than in the Huawei P30 Pro, for example. This suggests that the new phone will have two cameras, designed to make facial unlocking faster and safer than in current Huawei phones. Perhaps secure enough to authorize payments? We’ll see, although remember that Huawei’s current flagships include a fingerprint sensor under the screen, so it is probably also here.

The screen design is sumptuous.

This is what is called a waterfall screen. No, there is no real water involved, it means the way the screen cascades over the edges like, you guessed it, a waterfall. It is one of the things that makes the phone look so beautiful and attractive.

Just one button, so where is the volume control?

There is a simplicity of design with fewer buttons, especially because there is also no visible fingerprint sensor. But the only previous phone with hardly any buttons, from LG, had large volume oscillators on both sides of the power / fingerprint button. This does not seem, it seems to confirm an earlier rumor that the volume controls, such as the fingerprint sensor, will be buried under the screen. Great, huh?

And a great question unanswered

This type of leak cannot answer the most important question of all: what software will the Mate 30 Pro use? Unless something changes in trade negotiations between the United States and China, it seems that Huawei cannot use the full Google Mobile Services Android on its next phones.

Now, things are changing very quickly in this situation, but I doubt there is any movement before this week’s revelation.

Therefore, do not be surprised if there is a gap between the announcement and the launch or even if Huawei touches things close to your chest.

You could choose to put your own Harmony operating system on board, but you have made it clear that it is a backup, not the first option.

You could put open source Android on your phone and find some way to make it easier for customers to add applications such as Google Maps, Gmail, etc. That is also possible.

It may not be answered this week, but for everything else, not much until we know it.
